El Paseo del Inka en Londres - The Inka Trail in London

Inti – Raymi

I am delighted to confirm that aims and objectives of the project were achieved. We have managed to integrate the community including children; families and single newly arrive migrants, refugee and asylum seekers. The parade started with the Peruvian Group and a lot people managed to see as well enjoyed the activity. Once we arrived at Burgess Park on 15 August 2004 and 2005 at midday , some musicians and actors Volunteer used the traditional language “Quechua” but interpreters did handle a simultaneous translation, to ensure that everyone understood the performance. BBC2 was there, also at the same time some Members of Parlament, Who were very pleased to see the event. Many people from U.K. were involved in such nature and cultural performance.

The show had be helded on Sunday the 7 th August 2005 at Burgess Park. This Project was part of the Carnaval del pueblo, which is the largest open-air, Latin American cultural event in Europe with an audience of 80,000 people, according to Saouthwark council. The Carnival includes a Spectacular Float Procession moving off from close to Tower Bridge and City Hall (the offices of the Mayor London), past London Bridge , Borough High Street , through the Elephant & Castle and down Walworth Road finishing in Burgess Park, where we had our own Andean Inkarri stage -an original first for London.

Due to the achievement of 2004, 2005 and 2006. We are well placed to run the Inka-trail for the future years in London .
