Latin American Community in London is more and more an integrated part of our common heritage. This process of cultural integration requires an ongoing development of opportunity in order that "the essential exchange of ideas and informal education can continue". The benefit of this process is an increased understanding of each other's heritage, a process that helps healthy community integration and combats racism and social exclusion. For this reasons the Inkarri Project is contributing by transfering experiences of our traditions to new generations, emphasising such qualities in progressive participation as peace and respect. Inti Raymi is known as the Festival of the Sun because it symbolises "eternal consecration of and between the sun, nature and human race".

Here in London a large group of Peruvians and Latin Americans, feeling deeply nostalgic and longing for the home country have formed a cultural celebration. It exists in a spirit of fraternity and to offers the opportunity for professional dancers and musicians to carry out festival projects and share their knowledge with newer, less experienced practitioners. It is very specifically aimed at teenagers and young people within the community as a diversion, channelling energy into activities such as:Dance, Music, Workshops, Craftmanship, Culture Knowledge etc.

People from diferent cultures enjoy and get to know more about-Andean and Peruvian Traditions, which are an important part of Latin American culture. our activities also promote the music, dance and food of the, mainly, peruvian and Andean community - perhaps indirectly helping the tourist industry! By sharing thoughts and learning from the participants, Inkarri Project provides a window into a diferent culture, where living in harmony with nature and treating others with respect are deeply valued qualities.
